The Best Motivational and Inspirational Songs Ever

I’m happy to be able to share this list with you. I love music and find that it both motivates and inspires me. It pulls me out of those lulls that yes, even I can get into upon occasion.

Watch the video’s and get your daily dose of inspiration. Listen to them in the background while reading some of my articles, checking emails, paying bills, writing your next novel or taking brainstorming notes!

In my opinion these are the most motivational and inspirational songs of all time. They include YouTube videos that we hand-picked. Some are slow and some fast, but the bottom line is they will have you singing along.

Meaningful Lyrics

  1. Eugene says:

First of all, I have to give props to any list that includes Enigma in any way shape or form. Love them!

I would add “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” – Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole version.

  2. Just had to crank up the volume and start dancing around the room to Man In The Mirror!

Thanks for all the musical motivation today, Rob — wonderful way to jump start the weekend. 🙂

    Melanie

    • Rob says:

      Hey Melanie,
I hope you weren’t looking in the mirror at the time:)
That song resonates well with me also. I have to be the change I’m seeking.
I have to be the difference maker for me. I have to be the one who wants it for me, and acts upon that want. If I can do these, the better I will be to help others on their journey.

  3. Julie says:

Thanks for reminding me about Three Little Birds! I love that you linked to each song. For some reason I tend to pull out Led Zeppelin when I need to crank something, so I guess I can’t really add to the list without taking a weird twist 🙂

    • Rob says:

      Hey Julie,
No worries. I must admit there are a few on the list that I would not have chosen. Maybe some more I would have. I was keeping the audience in mind.
Still trying to figure out what, “who shines white light and wants to show”, actually means:)
      Live it LOUD!

  4. Hajra says:

I have some of these songs in a folder titled “Listen when Blue” Now all I need to get the ones I missed. Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield is one my favorites, the chorus speaks a lot! Great compilation!

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
    Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

    • Rob says:

      Hey Hajra,

Indeed, the chorus does speak! It reminds me of the book by Donald Miller, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years.
His book encourages each of us to live a story worth writing. What a great concept.
Thanks so much and it will be on the list!

      Live it LOUD!

  5. Hi Rob,
This is really weird but what gets me most charged up is bagpipe music. I’m American with no ancestral history to explain it, but it always moves me.
    Riley

    • Rob says:

      Hey Riley,

You’re alone…er, I meant not alone:) I must say hearing Amazing Grace at a funeral on the ‘pipes is touching.
Maybe bagpipes will be featured in the next Rocky movie and they will be the next ‘big thing’.
      Thanks for stopping by Riley.

      P.S. I love your blog.
      Live it LOUD!

  6. Bryan says:

So far Rob, the songs listed are awesome.. I would add “A Beautiful Day” by India.Arie

    • Rob says:

      Hey Bryan,

I will have to research that one as I am unfamiliar with it. Wondering if it is a cover of the U2 song that is on the list?
I’ll check it out. Thanks for mentioning.

      Live it LOUD!

      • Shewta says:

I have to admit that i am a very lazy person. Working out has never been a prtiroiy for me. But ever since i read this quote, it just dawned on me that i really have to persevere & set time to take care of my body. Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness.-Earl of Derbyisn’t that just the truth?I am still lazy, but i’d rather have the time to work out than be sick..^_~

  7. I love all the song listed here. I have an additional to that.. Live like we’re dying by Kris Allen … “We only got 86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell them that we love them
While we got the chance to say
    Gotta live like we’re dying”

    Lynne

    • Rob says:

      Hey Lynne,
I am quite familiar with this song as it was one of my daughter’s favorites. That means I’ve heard it lots:)
It would be our pleasure to add it to the list.

      Live it LOUD!

  8. Nice list, Rob. Thanks for adding to mine.

  17. SamanthaRae says:

I’m doing a project for English class: we have to come up with an iPod playlist for a character in the book we just read. I chose the main character, he’s a fighter. This list helped since the story is supposed to motivational, and the songs on the list are motivational.
