Just Run

Sometimes you just have to take the ball and run.

Yeah, sure, you can look around if you want to. You can allow life to blindside tackle you. You can make sure there is a nice path that will allow you free passage.

No worries.

Or, you can see a little bit of daylight, tuck the ball, and run like there’s no tomorrow.

There might not be.

You can’t be sure of what will happen if you do. You just know it has to be better than what’s been happening.

So, you just run.

You run because you’re scared. You run because you’re unsure of how many more tries you’ll get. You run because it’s your only chance.

And.

You won’t waste it by standing still. You won’t waste it by not trying. You sure as hell won’t waste it by looking to someone else to run for you.

It’s your ball.

It’s your moment.

It’s your time. It’s your destiny. So tuck the ball under your arms.

Hold fast to it like the fading dream that it is.

Hold fast to it because others will try and take it from you.

Hold fast because life will get in the way.

Hold fast to it and run.

Just run.

The end zone is just ahead.

Live it LOUD!

Hi Rob, pleasure to be at Today Has Power for the first time!

I love your style of writing, you’ve got a straight-forward way of telling it, mixed in with a serious dose of inspiration. Short sentences with a ‘punch’ always work well!

Love the video as well, it’s amazing what can work, yet we don’t usually have the guts to try it. If we only step outside of what we ‘know’ will work, and try something different, we might just uncover something special.

    Take care Rob 🙂

      Thanks Stuart,
      Appreciate the kind words.
Getting outside that comfort zone or traditional thinking can avail much. Combine that with persistence and there is no match.
I’ve seen it work over and over again.

      Live it LOUD!

Thank you for the reminder to run, run fast and run far. Often in life it seems I’m just putting along, when really I could be running with a much faster pace! In the race of life, a marathon, whatever it may be – our own self is usually the culprit of destruction. The one that holds us back. So in my mind, I just need to tell my slow self to sit down and be quiet – so I can just run fast! 🙂

      Hey Christian,
Ahh, the bliss of running. I’m with you on the putting. It gets frustrating at times. You can only do so much preparation. At some point one must lace ’em up and just take off. Good things can and do happen. Speaking of running, every time I stop by your site it appears to be running on all cylinders. Great job!

    Hi Rob,

Running sometimes can be the best for us. We have to get out of our comfort zone and run after our goals. As long as we stay inactive, we are not growing. Thanks for sharing Rob

    • Rob says:

      Hey Dia,

I agree. Most people don’t fail by running too fast. Unfortunately, most stop after a brisk walk and never learn their true potential. Let’s get a little nuts and run. Just run.
      Thanks for stopping by.
      Live it LOUD!

    Rob,

Thanks for your comment on my post on unlockthedoor.net I appreciate it. I enjoyed this post that you put together and I really liked the trick pay at the end. They tie together very well. Personally I like the idea of being able to juke my opposition, hurdle negative circumstances and force my way to success (the endzone) Great post!

      Hey Frank,
Great site. I’ll be visiting often. In the end, the most important step is the first one. Then, it’s the next one and so on.
Deliberate running is a good way to get to where it is you want to go.

      Live it LOUD!

I like what you have said “run like there’s no tomorrow”. You’re pertaining to live life to the fullest and that is a great motive in life. Living your life whether it is easy/hard, enjoy life!
