How to Get Anything You Want Out of Life?

This is just one small, but impactful, excerpt from my own eBook:

How to Get Anything You Want Out of Life…And, More!

Even if you never purchase the eBook, read this section again and again. Read in its entirety. You really can achieve your goals. You really can accomplish more than you thought was possible.

Make It Happen!

Don’t just read this post, take action!

A story a bit more public than mine is that of Mr. October. Reggie Jackson, for baseball fans, is known as Mr. October for hitting home runs when they counted most (during the playoffs and World Series).

Jackson played 21 seasons and reached the post-season in 11 of them, winning six pennants and five World Series. His accomplishments include winning both the regular-season and World Series MVP awards in 1973, hitting 563 career home runs (sixth all-time at the time of his retirement). He was named to 14 All-Star teams. He was the first to hit one hundred home runs for 3 different teams. He also had a candy bar named after him.

Oh, one other thing about Reggie before we get off the subject. He happened to strike out a lot. Well, more than a lot. In fact he struck out 2,597 times. That is more than any other player ever in the history of baseball.

Focus.

So what was he focused on every time at bat?

The next strike out?

Or, the next home run?

Why am I including this here instead of in some positive thinking area of the eBook (you better look hard)? Easy.

His home runs did not all come when he was feeling terrific. His strike outs did not all come when he was feeling bad. He was able to focus and strategize regardless of how he felt. It mattered not if he was angry, or sad, or happy. He hit home runs in spite of these feelings. Not because of them.

Receive that.

It matters not how you feel. It doesn’t.

If you wait until everything is ‘just right’,
it never will be.

You will make the time ‘just right’ by your actions.

There are so many examples of this. Read the above names and brief story lines again. Let them permeate your inner being.

It doesn’t matter how you feel.

Press On.

You need to press on in spite of your feelings.

Fake it until you make it.

In other words, if you need to cry, that’s fine. But, keep working. Keep going after those goals. If you need to yell. Fine. If you need to laugh your head off. Fine. Just don’t let these things impact your action taking. Keep pressing on in spite of them, just like so many before you.

If you do this, you will succeed.

“But one thing I do:
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
I press on toward the goal to win the prize…”
~ Paul

End excerpt.

Friend, reasons and excuses have always been around.

So have successful people.

You do realize that you are one intentional moment and action away, don’t you?

That pushing through right now will make the difference for the rest of your life?

It will.

Make the choice.

Make the choice to Live it LOUD!

If you would like your very own copy of How to Get Anything You Want Out of Life…And, More! Be intentional and click the link. You even get 2 bonuses. And yes, the audio version is included 🙂

Fake it til you make it! My favorite advice ever.

    • Rob says:

      True and personal advice Eugene.

That’s how a truck driver becomes the elected jury foreman among doctors, professionals, etc. That is how a guy writes articles for newspapers w/out any background or degree.
      The list goes on…
Others will perceive you the way you perceive yourself (good or bad). Which do you want it to be?

      Live it LOUD!

    Hi Rob!

I love this. I have often said to people when they feel that they want to give up on something important that feeling are transient. If we all stayed caught up in our feelings, every time we reached a snag, nothing would ever get done.

Feel the fear, anger, sadness…whatever. Acknowledge it, own it and then go out and do what you need to do. That’s the only way forward.

    Thanks for a fantastic reminder.

    • Rob says:

      Hey Tisha,

Well you used a lot less words than I did, but the point is exactly the same!!! 🙂
Feelings have long been an overlooked part of our makeup. We make bad decisions based upon them and then ‘feel’ even worse. What if we pushed through the ‘feelings’ and got it done any way? The other side sure looks a lot better. Time will pass either way.
      Thanks for your thoughts Tisha.

      Live it LOUD!

  3. Penelope J. says:

    Rob,
Thanks for a memorable post. I love real examples as they visualize a message so well. “If you wait until everything is “just right”, it never will be” is right on. “Just right” is a great excuse for procrastination and unfortunately, one I use a lot myself. When I have the “right” surroundings, the “right” working space, the “right” income, the “right” frame of mind, etc. etc. etc. It’s my biggest obstacle but I do have one advantage: when I believe in something, I do press on.

    • Rob says:

      Hey Penelope,

There are so many examples we can call upon. In the end, it comes down to ‘want to’. How badly do we want it? Pressing on is not one thing. It’s the only thing. The 3% of society that won’t take no for an answer. Whether it is themselves saying no or someone else. Keep pressing on Penelope. There is much left to do (for both of us).

      Thanks and…
      Live it LOUD!

  5. Emily Thorne says:

    Hi Rob,

I love your wisdom in this post. It’s easy to lose sight of goals when you get wrapped up in the drama of everyday life. This is a good reminder to step back and use logic. Like so many other things, it’s a choice whether to give in or march onward.

    • Rob says:

      Amen Emily!

Marching onward, even into failure, sure beats sitting on the couch and wondering, ‘What if?’.
If we take a good hold of the plow and keep our eyes steadily on the field before us, and plow away; well, I reckon that field is going to get plowed…:)

Here’s to plowing and Living it LOUD!
      Thanks for the input.

  6. akash says:

I think to get something you first you should have strong desire and determination . Then start serious effort with proper guidance. and golden rule is :
    never give up !

    • Rob says:

      Hey Akash,

Strategy+Persistence is a formidable duo. Hard to beat when in anyone’s arsenal.
      Never, never, never give up.

      Live it LOUD!

  7. Thanks for this motivational write up Rob. It’s true when they say that people usually fail right before that break through that they were looking for. That’s what I think about, if I ever intend to give up … which is unlikely!

    • Rob says:

      Hey Vitaly,

Only way to fail is to stop. Many stop but don’t know whether they were just around the corner, or a mile away. The longer we stay in the game, the closer it is.
See you at the top my friend.

      Live it LOUD!

  8. I agree. We mustn’t give up. But we have to set ourselves goals that are achievable or we’ll set ourselves up for ‘failure’.
When I started blogging my goals were far too optimistic! Now I travel hopefully and realsitically, and yes, step by step, I succeed!

    • Rob says:

      Hey Linda,

Welcome! I call that idea momentum stacking. Building upon each step and moving forward. The key is not to focus on set-backs for more than their educational value.

      Live it LOUD!

  9. I really like this Rob! I can actually relate, too. As I’m nearing the countdown to the launch of my first book, my family is also dealing with the horrible cancer news of my young brother-in-law. I considered putting it off – for months. I didn’t know how I’d get through it while navigating these choppy waters. But in the end I decided to just keep going.
Your post was timely for me. Thanks for that!
    Lori

    • Rob says:

      Hey Lori,

Terrible news. My guess is that he has a good support system if your family is involved. Let him know that he has strangers pulling for him, because he does.
Most of us don’t have legitimate reasons for not getting something done. Often times, we create them.
Life can be a delicate balancing act at times.
      Keep shining my friend.

  10. Anita says:

    Hi Rob,

Such a great read and inspiring post. “Fake it until you make it.” I’ll remember that 🙂

Unfortunately, money is a little tight for me right now but I hope you sell many copies of your book.

    Have a good day,
    Anita

    • Rob says:

      Hey Anita,

Welcome to Today Has Power! Glad you enjoyed, and no worries. This post has enough meat to fill any appetite, if one is hungry.

      Live it LOUD!

  11. Ninja says:

    Hey Rob,

Your excerpt really inspires a person who is really dejected by life. It tries to fill some optimistic attitude to look at your life. I feel Its really a great thought to share in my Office room to counsel my cliets who are really sick and tired of failures. Thanks for the excerpt.

    • Rob says:

      Hey Ninja,

It is a good start to be ‘sick and tired’ of failures. Then, a steady dose of action, with strategy, and finally a helping of persistence. Works a charm. Thanks for stopping by and spreading the hope my friend.

      Live it LOUD!

  12. I love that we can “fake it until we make it.” As you said, we don’t have to feel like doing it, but the funny thing is that once you start doing it, eventually you’ll start feeling like it. Do not focus on your feelings–focus on your actions. When you start acting a certain way, your feelings will change.

I like the acronym for ACE: ACE = Action Changes Everything.

    • Rob says:

      Rachel!

When you see some t-shirts on the sidebar (down the road), gently remind me. Yours is on the house.
That is exactly it in a nutshell. Fight through the resistance no matter how unpleasant, and it will get better. You will have learned the discipline involved in achieving BIG things.
      That comment made my day.
      Live it Exceedingly LOUD!

  13. Ken Wert says:

    Awesome stuff, Rob!

All of life has ups and downs. The question has always been whether what we do — the actions we take, our daily behavior, our goals and plans — will follow those highs or lows or will fly above them. Those who do what needs to be done regardless of how they feel are those who, like you say, will be successful. Those whose actions go dormant when life takes a turn for the worse, are those who end up quitting and struggling and wishing their way through life.

Thanks for posting such a motivational message!

    • Rob says:

      Hey Ken,

Good points my friend. Today can be the day that changes a pattern forever. Dormancy need not apply. Wishing is definitely not the path one will be glad to have been on.

      Live it LOUD!

  14. Deeone says:

    Hey Rob, excellent post!

I was introduced to your website via a mutual friend of our, Samantha Bangayan, author of What Little Things. I really enjoyed what I’ve read thus far, and definitely will be following you on your journey.

“I Receive It” all, my friend. You gave a wealth of information in this post, reminding us that we must continue to reach beyond the break. Great energy Rob… and I do enjoy a good positive flow. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Very inspiring, Rob. You are quite right. Excuses will go on and on until we realize that time has left us and we still did nothing because of excuses. If you feel the time isn’t right yet, then its up to you to make it right. Don’t wait for it to happen, make it happen. 🙂

  16. Hanni says:

    Hi Rob,

This Ebook seems so interesting to read, it is a great way to help our own selves to reach what we really wanted in life. Hope I can read this more…

    • Rob says:

      Hey Hanni,

Thanks for stopping by. I do believe it is powerful. The question really is whether one is ready. Today has power…but only if you want it to.

      Live it LOUD!

  17. Monica says:

Thank you so much for the much needed inspiration. Awesome blog you have.

      Hey Monica,

Thanks for the kind words. Indeed, push through right now. You may even surprise yourself as to where the journey takes you. Will this be the time the effort pays off, or next? Keep pushing and you’ll find out 🙂
